Accountant - Part-time
Based in Clacton-on-Sea.

We are seeking further an Accountant to provide and deliver high quality tax, accountancy & VAT services with the personal touch that our small business clients demand.
You will work closely with your clients and will be taking a leading role in the preparation of accounts and tax work. Our unique shop fronted office environments foster great opportunities to get to know your clients face to face in a relaxed setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
You will support the Proprietor and you will need to be able to prepare sole trader and limited company accounts as well as take the lead in managing the client relationship.
You will be 100% client facing and take on a portfolio of new and existing clients to manage.
The role includes the following duties and therefore you are required to have technical experience in:
Preparing Ltd Company management accounts, statutory accounts and Corporation Tax Returns.
Self-assessment Tax return completion and submission
Preparing VAT Returns along with Online Submission.
Assisting and training other members of staff.
Any new training will be provided in learning the practice software, however, experience with accounting and tax software such as TaxCalc and Quickbooks Online will be an advantage but not essential.
You will have proven accounts and taxation experience and will have worked in an accountancy practice for a number of years. You must have relevant and recent small practice experience and be used to working on your own initiative. Ideally, you will be qualified or studying towards ACCA, or hold an accountancy degree. However, we would also welcome your application if you are qualified by experience.
You must have a good working knowledge of accounts preparation and computations of taxes with the ability to hit the ground running and assist with complex tasks. As a successful candidate you will also have:
• The ability to develop strong client/colleague relationships,
• Exceptional communication/presentation skills,
• Drive & ambition with a high focus towards customer service.
You will also have a sound knowledge of accounting principles and strong business acumen. Your tax knowledge should be up to date and you will need good IT skills.
You should be able to meet with potential clients with a view to converting them into clients. As long as you are prepared to hold these meetings, then we can help train you into how the process works.
You must have good people skills, be highly organised and be able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines. You must have a good command of the English language (both spoken and written) as the job involves writing of technical emails to clients.
Salary depends on experience plus exciting Profit Share scheme. Pension available upon completion of initial probationary period. Part Time work available.
