Reed's 2013 Salary and Market Insight report revealed that 61 per cent of firms are worried about losing talented members of staff, indicating greater confidence among workers to move onto better things.
Furthermore, HR Magazine reports that 39 per cent of workers are looking for new roles over the next 12 months, while firms are keen to invest in their workforce.
Tom Lovell, Group Managing Director at Reed, is quoted by the news provider as saying: "The jobs market is a good indication of the mood of business and the increase we have seen in job opportunities over the past year indicates economic confidence.
"Businesses are feeling confident to invest in talent and it is encouraging that this has now translated into confidence for workers to look for new roles too."
It comes after the Federation of Small Businesses said earlier this month that there are signs for cautious optimism for small firms in 2013.
