Eight trade envoys named to help spread word on ideas

The government has unveiled the names of eight trade envoys who it believes will be able to help promote the ideas of the nation's small businesses and other enterprises.

Prime Minister David Cameron said that Baroness Bonham Carter of Yarnbury (trade envoy to Mexico) and Baroness Morris of Bolton (trade envoy to Jordan, Kuwait and Palestinian Territories) will be among those involved.

This, he believes, will provide the perfect platform from which firms will be able to expand their services into new areas of the world, helping to boost the UK economy in the process.

Mr Cameron added: "We need to show the world at every opportunity this country's great creativity and dynamism if we are going to win this global race for jobs, trade and investment.

"That is why I am delighted that some of our great parliamentarians have accepted my invitation to use their experience and know-how to bang the drum for British business."
