POSITION SUMMARY AND CANDIDATE PROFILE
We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our finance team, helping to shape the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the company. The role will manage the existing finance team of 5, who together manage the accounting process for circa 20 companies. The candidate will also support the CFO through meticulous analysis and forecasting, analysing data, trends, and metrics to inform decision-making, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the established finance team of 5
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts for circa 20 companies
- Liaise with the auditors for the preparation on annual accounts, tax computations and the annual audit.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning, investment decisions, resource allocation, and overall business growth.
- Managing annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts to allocate resources and plan for future operations.
- Clearly explain complex financial information and strategies to various stakeholders, supporting informed decisions.
- Collaborate with department heads and senior managers to gather data, understand business drivers, and provide financial context for initiatives.
- Compare actual financial results against forecasts and budgets to understand performance deviations and to identify and suggest improvements.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, systems and reporting frameworks to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the Group.

PERSON SPECIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Essential experience and skills required:
• Accounting qualification – ICAEW (ACA)/ACCA/CIMA
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or corporate finance.
• Strong ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and apply critical thinking to solve problems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and expertise in financial modelling and analysis. Experience of Power BI would be beneficial
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• A detail-oriented mindset with a strong ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
• Understanding of financial principles, market conditions, and how financial decisions impact business performance.
