Questions and Answers
Can I claim for Job Retention Scheme if I am an employee and self-employed?
I am self-employed (less than 50% of my income) as well as being in full-time permanent employment. It is possible that I’ll be furloughed from my day job very soon, and I am wondering if my self-employment will affect my eligibility for 80% pay under the Job Retention Scheme.
A claim under the Job Retention Scheme will be made by your employer, and not you.Their claim is based only on your salary level, and your other personal sources of income do not affect your employer’s ability to make the claim.
