COVID-19: Can I claim for company pension contributions if I am a director?

I’m a director who receives a basic salary, can I also claim for any pension contributions the company pays into my pension scheme?

Should the conditions for furloughing be met, then an employer can only recover the cost of any mandatory Employer pension contributions under Automatic Enrolment, which is currently 3%.

Where a director is paid a basic salary, then in most cases there is no mandatory requirement for the company to make contributions under Auto Enrolment, so in some instances it will not be possible to make any form of claim for pension contributions.
