October 31st Tax Return Deadline
|
A new tax return deadline has been introduced this year which you should be aware of. If you have been sent a self assessment tax return before or on 31st of July 2008 and you are not filing online then the new deadline is 31st October 2008. Over three million people left their tax returns until January last year and we believe HMRC are aiming to reduce the amount of people waiting until January to file their returns. |

This ended in their online facility crashing due to the amount of tax returns being processed in one short period of time.
If the paper return is filed after this deadline you will be charged an automatic penalty of £100. Late Partnership tax returns draw a £100 penalty for each partner and late trust and estate tax returns result in a £100 penalty charge to the trust or estate.
We are geared up to submit your paper tax return for you. If you would like to find out more about this service then please speak with a TaxAssist Accountant today on 0800 0523 555 or fill out our contact form.
Did you know? There are some cases (albeit very few) where tax returns cannot be filed online.
