An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, dynamic, keen and enthusiastic accountant to join a medium sized accountancy practice in North Wales. The position has been created due to the rapid organic growth of the firm.

Key Requirements

  • At least 5 to 10 Years PQE
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Broad knowledge of accountancy and taxation legislation with the ability to research, comprehend and disseminate more complex matters
  • Staff management experience
  • Keen attention to detail, well organized and professional standards

General Tasks

  • General practice work including:-
  • Annual accounts
  • Management accounts
  • Business tax
  • Corporation tax
  • VAT
  • PAYE
  • Tax Returns
  • HMRC enquiries
  • Tax planning
  • Financial planning
  • Business start ups
  • Business acquisition and disposal
  • Company secretarial work
  • Management of workflow
  • Responsible for quality of output
  • Telephone, e-mail, letter and face to face contact with clients
  • Problem solving client issues
  • Aid with practice development, marketing and continued growth
  • Staff management and training
  • Internal management responsibilities including invoicing, budgeting and office maintenance

About Tax Assist Accountants

Tax Assist is the largest network of accountants in the UK and services over 43,000 clients nationwide and supported by the Norwich technical support team. The Practice in North Wales is anticipated to grow to around 800 to 900 small business accounts compliance and personal taxation clients, after five years of trading, of varying types and sizes and the ideal candidate will therefore have excellent all round skills and up to date technical knowledge in these key areas. The firm’s growth in recent years has come about largely from recommendations from existing satisfied clients which in itself is a result of a friendly, open and hands on style of service. Candidates will therefore be able to demonstrate a similar way of working, together with an innovative and enquiring approach to their work. In addition to these technical attributes, some experience of staff and business management will be prerequisites, together with excellent all round communication skills.

The Practice operates from modern, well-appointed and well equipped high street shop front developments in three beautiful locations (Llandudno, Prestatyn and Wrexham) using principally CCH software and employing five full time staff, although this is expected to rise. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a mixed portfolio of clients and will be expected to play a full and active role in the Practice marketing effort in order to increase that client base. There could be a possibility of directorship opportunity within 36 months subject to performance and achieving targets.
