Can a furloughed director send posts on social media?
I am a furloughed director but can I still post on my company's social media channels during the COVD-19 pandemic?
HMRC has stated that directors cannot be furloughed if they continue to carry out activities which ‘generate commercial revenue or provides services to or on behalf of their company’.
It would depend on the nature of the social media posts, but if these were to promote/advertise the company’s services this could be considered as a revenue generating activity.
