One in three people have sole trader aspirations

One in three employees have an ambition to set up a business start upOne in three people in the UK have a burning ambition to launch their own business start-up, a new investigation has found.

Statistics revealed by More Th>n Business disclosed that 71 per cent of workers have "significant regrets" over their path of employment, while a quarter stuck with a role they were not happy with.

Individuals looking to set up as a sole trader could consult their local accountant for invaluable advice.

A spokesman for More Th>n Business, Mike Bowman, said: "If you have a burning ambition or a brilliant idea, than it's surely better to take the plunge and start your own business, rather than look back in the future and regret not doing so."

Figures released as part of the investigation also showed that 78 per cent of people in Leeds rued their choice of career.

A recent study by the Federation of Small Businesses found that the number of sole traders in the UK had increased since the start of the economic downturn, the Financial Times reported.
