Enterprise Zones 'will boost local areas' across the UK

Date: 23rd August 2011

Enterprise Zones 'will boost local areas' across the UKThe government's new Enterprise Zones, which will encourage more small businesses to set up across the UK, will boost the local jobs market.

This is according to Paul Ross, regional director in the East Midlands at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, where two Enterprise Zones are to be established.

He said that the zones, which will be supported by tax breaks for new businesses and other incentives, will provide more jobs.

"It is crucial that we build on existing strength in high-performance engineering that already exists in the East Midlands. This is where the jobs of the future will come from and where businesses in the region can compete globally," he added.

"As dozens of new high-technology businesses open in these zones, there will be a huge demand for the instant supply of skilled, experienced workers."

New Enterprise Zones will be established in the East Midlands at MIRA Technology Park in Hinckley, Leicestershire, and Northampton Waterside.

Over the past 10 years we believed that if we wanted outstanding service we should use traditional large accountancy firms. Oh how wrong we had been! We had been charged high fees without any real value being added to the business.
