Always a market for contractors, says expert

Starting a new business could prove a more attractive option for a number of Britons following the comments of one industry expert.

Dave Chaplin, chief executive officer of advisory website contractorcalculator.co.uk, has claimed that there will "always be a market" for contractors.

According to the expert, a lack of demand for permanent staff from larger businesses around the country means firms will always look to outsource certain elements of their operation.

"I think there will always be a market for contractors because there is always going to be small firms growing that need work doing that just doesn't justify someone working full time, we use contractors ourselves," he commented.

"People do contracting because they want the lifestyle, often because they earn more money but often because they like to be able to do project work for varying clients, it pays well and it's more interesting than going to the same place everyday."
