UK's financial services sees record growth in January

The number of people seeking the assistance of a specialist accountancy service in the UK appears to be on the rise.

That is the suggestion of the latest London Employment Monitor by Morgan McKinley, which showed that job availability in the financial services sector increased by 64 per cent in January.

With demand increasing by such a significant amount, it is clear the business activity is on the rise for firms working in the sector.

Andrew Evans, Chief Operations Officer at Morgan McKinley Financial Services, commented: "It's positive to see our Employment Monitor registering an increase in job availability in January 2012 after two months of declining hiring activity in the City."

However, Mr Evans claimed that a rise is expected at this time of year and warned jobseekers and financial service providers that long-term growth is needed before a trend can be determined.

"It's important to note that this is a very typical trend at this time of year with December being a shorter working month. For the eight years that we have been recording job availability, January has always seen an increase in financial services hiring activity in London," he commented.
