Orange offers small firms 'communications lifeline'

Small firms - such as business start-ups - have been offered a new deal in telecommunicationsCash-strapped small businesses are to be offered an innovative communications service from Orange UK, it has been announced.

Under the group's Flexible Workforce 'pay as consume scheme', smaller enterprises - including sole traders and partnerships - are able to forego typical monthly line-rental contracts while also benefiting from flexibility over changes in workforce numbers.

The aim of the service is to allow small firms to save expenditure where possible during the economic crisis and give greater freedom to plan ahead.

Director of small businesses for Orange UK, Martin Lyne, commented: "No one needs to be told of the detrimental effects the recession is having on business in the UK at present.

"We need to ensure we provide flexibility in our plans to help support … [small firms'] changing communication needs."

Smaller businesses are currently busy preparing for the upcoming self-assessment tax return deadline, with all submissions having to be filed online by January 31st.
