LOCOG: Thousands of contracts still available

Date: 14th October 2011

LOCOG announces contract opportunitiesSmall businesses and UK contractors can still benefit from next year's Olympic Games, it has been claimed.

The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) has revealed that over the next six months around 100,000 contracts will be made available.

Paul Deighton, chief executive of LOCOG, said: "Without the tens of thousands of people working on the London 2012 Games, they simply wouldn't happen. If someone wants to be able to say that they played a part in making London 2012 a success, then this is their opportunity.

"There is a role out there for everyone and I would urge everyone to keep an eye on our website and start applying for these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities."

The expert added that in addition to its internal contracts, the Games will bring a wealth of opportunities from its sponsors, suppliers and other businesses.

A number of industries are set to benefit from London hosting the Games next summer as the event attracts worldwide attention and is expected to boost UK tourist numbers.

Over the past 10 years we believed that if we wanted outstanding service we should use traditional large accountancy firms. Oh how wrong we had been! We had been charged high fees without any real value being added to the business.
