Include a likeness on your business card, freelancers told

Date: 10th November 2011

Expert issues business card adviceFreelance workers and small business owners across the UK have been told to be mindful that when attending large networking events, people are likely to forget who they are.

This, one expert has claimed, means it is vital for individuals to have their own likeness incorporated into their business card design.

However, Alexis Rodrigo, creator of TheSavvyFreelancer.com, has warned that it is vital the correct image is chosen, as some in the industry believe photographed business cards to be "tacky".

"I used to think it was tacky to have your photograph on your business card. In fact, I still think most of the time, this isn't done in a very tasteful manner," he explained.

"But the fact is you need to have your likeness there, because most people you meet for the first time at a conference or seminar will not remember you afterwards, especially if it's a large event."

As such, the expert said a "clear and attractive" image should be chosen in order to make a business cad stand out.

Over the past 10 years we believed that if we wanted outstanding service we should use traditional large accountancy firms. Oh how wrong we had been! We had been charged high fees without any real value being added to the business.
