Entrepreneurs have little faith in coalition

Small business owners and other entrepreneurs around the UK are becoming increasingly disgruntled with the performance of the coalition government.

That is according to recently-published research by RSM Tenon, which showed that a number of individuals feel the coalition has had a negative effect on their operations.

Data from the study shows that more than a quarter of respondents feel the current government has negatively affected their ability to succeed, while a further 11 per cent describe the effect as "very negative".

RSM Tenon chief executive Andy Raynor commented: "George Osborne says he recognises that smaller enterprises are the lifeblood of the economy so now is the time to introduce incentives such as reduced tax rates to reward UK entrepreneurs, which in turn will further stimulate the economy and aid growth."

It comes as Mr Osborne outlined a range of plans to boost small businesses in his speech at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester.

"The chancellor has said that he will commit to helping business, so with just over half of all UK entrepreneurs saying that they didn't think the coalition government had made any effect on their business, there is still a great deal of work to be done," Mr Raynor added.
