Businesses urged to identify new markets

Date: 27th August 2010

Report shows renewed business confidenceSmall businesses operating in the UK could be among those to be encouraged by the recent comments of one expert.

Adrian Tripp, chief executive officer of the European Business Awards (EBA), has claimed that there has recently been a renewed confidence among British businesses.

"There is a return to confidence across the business community not just in the UK but across Europe, as businesses wake up to new opportunities around the world and begin to seize them," he commented.

The expert said the businesses that are most likely to succeed are those that strive to identify new customers both at home and in foreign markets.

"It might be UK, but it is also those customers in other countries around the world, particularly those in areas like Brazil and the Middle and Far East where you see a growing middle class with money to spend," he added.

Recent EBA research revealed that more than half of all companies in Europe are predicting minimum growth of ten per cent by the end of next year.

Over the past 10 years we believed that if we wanted outstanding service we should use traditional large accountancy firms. Oh how wrong we had been! We had been charged high fees without any real value being added to the business.
