Three quarters of firms 'confident' on surviving recession
Date: 23rd March 2009
More than three quarters of small businesses are confident that they will survive the recession, new statistics show.
Figures published by uSwitchforbusiness.com, a price comparison website, discovered that while almost two thirds of companies are finding the current economic climate difficult, the vast majority expect to come out on top.
Despite the positive outlook, most enterprises could still potentially benefit from the advice of a qualified local accountant at the present time, which can provide help on cashflow, payroll and other business aspects.
Energy expert at uSwitchforBusiness.com, Will Marples, said: "Most [small businesses] are already taking evasive action by starting to cut costs.
"They know this isn't the complete answer to surviving the recession, but it could be the difference between staying afloat and going under."
A recent investigation by More Th>n Business found that about one in three workers in the UK have aspirations to launch their own business start-up.
