Date: 27th April 2011

Small firms to embrace technologySmall businesses in the UK are looking to "innovate their way to success", according to one expert.

Leading business futurologist James Bellini has claimed that a growing number of firms, including those operating away from the digital arena, are looking to technology to boost their operation.

Mr Bellini explained: "Many of the successful companies in this country aren't in big, futuristic market sectors – some of them are locksmiths or selling ladies tights and are very successful.

"What they've done is harness all the technologies of the new digital world to make themselves more successful. Innovation is also about how you do things. You can sell a traditional product in a very 21st century, digital way by making use of the technologies about."

The comments follow a new Becrypt report, which claimed that demand for mobile working facilities continues to rise in the UK despite access and use of data remaining a major business concern for many enterprises.
