Q2 'will be strongest' in 2010

Date: 27th July 2010

Q2 to be the best of 2010The past three months have financially and economically been the best of the year, an investment expert has said.

Michael Baxter, editor of Investment and Business News magazine, noted that the second quarter of 2010 will be the strongest of this year.

He added that the effects of the emergency Budget have not been felt yet; when this happens, the country see reduced economic growth.

As a result, it may even be that the second quarter of this year will be better than 2011.

Mr Baxter said: "There is a general feeling out there that Q2 is going to be as good as it gets for a while now, and it might prove to be better than any quarter we get next year as well."

Last week, data from the Office for National Statistics revealed that UK gross domestic product grew by 1.1 per cent in the second quarter of the year.

This is compared with growth of just 0.3 per cent in the first three months of 2010.

Over the past 10 years we believed that if we wanted outstanding service we should use traditional large accountancy firms. Oh how wrong we had been! We had been charged high fees without any real value being added to the business.
