Londoners worried about job security

Date: 25th February 2010

Poeple in the south are concerned about thier working conditionsBusiness owners in the south of England could be among those to be interested in the findings of a new report.

People who work in London are more worried about their working conditions than any other are in the UK, according to new research by Friends Provident.

Data from a recently-published study has revealed that 49 per cent of Londoners are concerned about their work-life balance.

The report also revealed a north-south divide with those working in the north seemingly more content with their workloads.

Trevor Matthews, chief executive officer of Friends Provident, said: "Despite southerners feeling downbeat about the future it is good to see northerners are positive about the decade to come.

"Employers in the south need to recognise this feeling of discontent."

The report also showed that 46 per cent of workers in the south-east were worried about what the next ten years has in store for them.

This compared to just 32 per cent of those who work in the north of the country.

Over the past 10 years we believed that if we wanted outstanding service we should use traditional large accountancy firms. Oh how wrong we had been! We had been charged high fees without any real value being added to the business.
