Govt and business team up for cybercrime crackdown

Date: 7th July 2011

New group to fight cybercrime on business' behalfSmall businesses working in various industries across the UK could be among those to benefit from the launch of a new group dedicated to fighting cybercrime.

The International Cyber Security Protection Alliance (ICSPA) represents the first time that the government, law enforcement agencies and large international businesses have teamed up to provide a concerted effort in the fight against online criminal activity.

Prime minister David Cameron has welcomed the news, saying the group will compliment the coalition's existing initiatives.

"Our government has already injected an additional £650 million to help improve our national infrastructure and protect against cybercrime, but the very nature of this threat calls for more than a national response," he commented.

"By forging new relationships between businesses, governments and law enforcement officers all over the world, by investing in new training, and by building an international exchange of expertise, the ICSPA is forming a network powerful enough and wide enough, to face down cybercrime."

Over the past 10 years we believed that if we wanted outstanding service we should use traditional large accountancy firms. Oh how wrong we had been! We had been charged high fees without any real value being added to the business.
